We are so often worried about what other people think of us.  Do they like us?  Do they approve? Are they making fun of me? Will they be disappointed if “god forbid..” we make a mistake?

So here is the reality…. People are not nearly as interested in you as you think they are.  I don’t mean this to be unkind.  It’s not that they don’t care.  It’s just that the reality is that they are just as much in their heads as you!  They are way too busy worrying about what others think of them or worried that you might find out all their faults, that they really rarely spend much time noticing your mistakes and worries.

So take a breath and let it go.  Your practice is not getting them to love you or approve of you anyway.  You practice is learning to love and approve of yourself.. faults, foibles and all.
