As many of you know, one of the key points we discuss in Law of Attraction 101 is the Ego and it’s core beliefs that keep us in a disempowered/disconnected state. These core fear-based beliefs are created to help us more fully experience a state of disconnection from Source at an early age so through that contrast we can more fully experience the Truth of our Connection to Source as we remember who we are and then more fully embody who we are (what better way to experience your Truth than through living the complete antithesis of it for a while!).

There are 4 core beliefs of the Ego we have been working with so far.
1. I am separate (from others, from Source)
2. I am not good enough (not smart enough, not funny enough, not pretty enough…)
3. I am not loved/lovable
4. There is not enough (not enough money, not enough time, not enough resources…)

I have always said, that there very well may be more than these 4 and the awareness of a 5th Core Ego belief came in the other day during a Law of Attraction 101 workshop. It is not new. We discussed it often in workshops, e-newsletters and such, but I had not articulated it as a 5th Core Ego Belief until now.

So, the 5th Core belief of the Ego is:

5. I have no control/no power

How does this show up in your life? As the need to control circumstances, people, situations to feel like you have some control in your life. Is also creates blame when you feel like others are trying to control you and your happiness. It is that feeling of powerlessness when something happens that feels out of your control. The feeling that your power has been taken away by someone or something else.

So look into your life and see where this 5th Core Ego Belief is playing out. It very likely is tied to one of the other Ego Beliefs. They usually do go together. But is does have a distinct energy of it’s own.

Awareness is the first step. See where you are giving your power away. See where you are trying to control a situation so you feel better. Doesn’t work so well does it?

Next week we will talk about the 5TH CORE BELIEF OF THE AUTHENTIC SELF that counters the 5th Core Belief of the Ego. But first, just work on the awareness. Be the observer. See the Ego’s attempt to control, blame, to jump into the power struggle. See the Ego for what it is . That is always the most powerful step.

Namaste,

Coach Michelle
